The upcoming Adam Sandler movie called “Funny People” is a film that will focus on a stand-up comedian/actor named George Simmons (Sandler), and will feature multiple “fake” movies/movie posters starring the character played by Sandler, one of which (“My Best Friend is a Robot”) will show Owen Wilson playing the part of a bionic buddy:

A few scenes have actually been shot for some of these “fake” mini-films, but from what I understand Owen won’t actually have a role, this poster (among others) will simply just be displayed in the background of George Simmons’ house.

Funny People will be released July 31st, 2009 in the USA. Co-starring Seth Rogen, Jason Schwartzman and Leslie Mann.
