Mark your calendars, on February 13th 2013 at 2:00pm ET, you can sign in with Google+ and join Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn as they present the world premier trailer for The Internship. They’ll answer questions and chat about their experiences filming on the real-life Google campus with real-life Google employees. Conan O’Brien will be hosting the event. Make sure you use a time converter to make sure you’ll be at the event at the right time for your area!
The film focuses on two middle-aged men who find themselves getting “lost” in the digital age, signing on to be interns for the ever-so-popular Google. The two find themselves struggling and surrounded by twenty-year-olds for bosses. This is the first flick Wilson and Vaughn have done together since Wedding Crashers in 2005. The film is directed by Shawn Levy, will co-star Will Ferrell, John Goodman and Rose Byrne. The film will be released in theaters on June 7th, 2013.
Rumors of Night at the Museum 3 have been floating around in the rumor mill since the middle of last year, but now it’s official: NATM3 will be released December 25 2014. Ben Stiller will be returning in the main role, while Shawn Levy will be returning to direct. Levy just finished wrapping up directing The Internship with Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn, and he had this to say about the NATM3 script:
“It’s really funny, it’s very poignant, and it’s not just ‘Oh what museum are they going to this time?’ it’s a much meatier story than that.”
It is assumed that since Jedediah and Octavius are two of the biggest fan-favorites, that Owen Wilson and Steve Coogan will be returning to their roles as well.
You can see more about Shawn Levy by checking out his official IMDb, or you can follow him on his Twitter. The Internship will release this year, June 7th.
The Shawn Levy directed comedy starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn has been moved up a few weeks to a June 7, 2013 release date. This puts the film in a prime position to receive a decent box office draw, releasing around the same time as successful previous films such as The Hangover and Knocked Up.
Check out this new batch of set photos I found over at Contactmusic:
So apparently The Internship is once again simply called Interns. Hopefully they’ve decided on it this time.
Tiya Sircar has been officially announced as the newest cast member to be added to the Shawn Levy directed film, Interns. She’ll play the part of one of the techheads at a digital corporation. You may have seen Sircar in projects such as The Vampire Diaries and NCIS. To see more information about her, check out her official IMDb page.
Filming is scheduled to begin this Summer and has Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn in the starring roles.
As Shawn Levy prepares to start filming The Internship starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn in a sort of Wedding Crashers type reunion, he also spoke in an interview about the possibility of directing a third installment in the Night at the Museum series in which Owen plays the part of miniature cowboy Jedediah Smith. He had this to say about it:
“Very possibly. Got a script. Very possibly. It’s really funny, it’s very poignant, and it’s not just ‘Oh what museum are they going to this time?’ it’s a much meatier story than that.”
He also spoke about doing a remake of The Cannonball Run and mentioned Owen once again, he’s quoted as follows:
“I did have talks with Al Ruddy who’s the producer of the original films about maybe [doing] it with all my comedy friends. My dream was do it with Ben [Stiller] and Owen [Wilson] and basically all the comedy guys I now know… There were conversations with me and Al and Fox, but I think it’s ended up with Warner Bros. for Guy Ritchie maybe, so no I don’t have anything to do with that but it was something I looked into once about two years ago.”
Very very interesting! He must have a great deal of respect for Owen to want to involve him with so many of his projects. I’m looking forward to seeing which projects develop and become a reality. I’m personally thrilled to death that there is a NATM3 script in existence and I hope to see our favorite mini duo Jed & Octavius make a return.
Shawn Levy’s The Internship starring Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn now has an official release date according to 20th Century Fox. The film will re-unite the Wedding Crashers duo in another comedy setting, but of a very different type. They will play two “passed their prime” salesmen pals who have trouble adjusting to the digital age and keeping competitive numbers with their younger co-workers. The duo find themselves unemployed, and looking to intern at a major tech company.
No new details have been released about the script, but a couple of important dates have been set in stone:
Filming date:June 25, 2012 Release date: June 28th, 2013 June 7th, 2013
That’s right, the film will release in theaters almost exactly one year after filming begins. Laps Entertainment and Wild West Picture Show Productions will be producing the film, and it is based off of Vaughn’s original script.
It may not be Wedding Crashers 2, but fans of the comedy duo will be glad to know that the funny men will be reuniting for a film called “Interns” which focuses on two middle-aged men in fear of losing their jobs to younger up-and-coming interns. Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum, Real Steel) will be directing the comedy, the script was penned by Vaughn.
